Connect storage
Scribe reads source documents from, and writes its output to, folders in your own cloud storage. Nothing is copied into a PharmFindr-owned library: you connect an account, then attach specific folders to a Project.
Dropbox is supported today. SharePoint and Google Drive appear on the Connections page marked Coming soon.
Connect your Dropbox account
Each person who needs to browse or attach folders connects their own Dropbox account. This keeps access honest: you can only see and attach folders your own Dropbox account can already reach.
- Open Connections in your organization workspace.
- On the Dropbox row, click Connect and sign in to Dropbox when prompted.
- You return to the Connections page with a "Dropbox connected" confirmation and the row shows Connected.

A few things to know:
- If the Dropbox account's email differs from your PharmFindr login, the connection still works, and you'll see a warning to double-check it's the account you meant.
- You can't connect the PharmFindr platform's own Dropbox account — connect your own.
- To disconnect, click Disconnect on the row. Projects lose access to their attached folders until someone reconnects.
Attach a folder to a Project
Attaching is done per Project, by someone with the Project Admin role (the
project.manage_folders permission).
- Open the Project and select the Connections tab.
- Under Attach a folder, pick Dropbox. If it's greyed out, connect it first from the organization's Connections page.
- Browse to the folder and click Attach.

The folder then appears under Attached folders. You can attach several folders to one Project, for example a separate input and output folder.
What attaching does in Dropbox
To read and write on the Project's behalf, Scribe works through a PharmFindr-operated Dropbox account that is added as a collaborator with edit access on the attached folder. Attaching therefore shares that folder with the platform account, and the attach only completes once Dropbox confirms the share worked. If it can't, you'll see the reason Dropbox gave rather than a folder that looks attached but isn't.
Practical consequences:
- You need enough access in Dropbox to share the folder. If Dropbox refuses, ask the folder's owner to grant you edit and sharing rights, or have them attach it.
- Scribe only ever touches attached folders and their subfolders.
- You can't attach a folder that sits inside an already attached folder, or one that contains one. Attach the higher-level folder once and choose subfolders in routing rules instead.
Detach a folder
In the Project's Connections tab, click the X next to the folder under Attached folders. Detaching removes the platform account from the Dropbox folder first, and only then marks the folder detached here, so the two never disagree. If Dropbox rejects the removal, the folder stays attached and you'll see an error — retry, or ask someone with sharing rights on the folder.
Routing rules that use a detached folder can no longer run. Check Routing rules before detaching.
